Dr. Kirstie began her practice studying with Jero Tapakan in Traditional Balinese Massage is an ancient healing tradition from the island of Bali, Indonesia. Kirstie Bender Segarra, Ph.D., LMT #4888, RMTI, E-RYT C-IAYT has over 21 years of experience and is a Doctor of Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Kirstie was charged with conservation of Balinese Traditional Massage as taught by Jero Tapakan. She is a full time faculty at the University of New Mexico-Taos where she started the Integrative Massage Therapy Program in 2007 and founded the Yoga Teacher Training Program in 2010.

Dr. Kirstie is a full-time practitioner of Structural Integration, Structural Yoga Therapy and  Integrative Medicine. She has been practicing since 1996. She specializes in Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Myofascial Pain, Arthritis, Scoliosis and Pre/Postpartum treatments.

She has developed and taught Myofascial Yoga™ and is currently developing a system of integrative health and systems theory in Fascial Health™. See upcoming Continuing Education courses.

Kirstie was President of Santosha Yoga a New Mexico Non-Profit taught Myofascial Yoga™ weekly for seva (service to the community) for 9 years. She currently teaches through TaoSatva and her private practice.

In conjunction with University of New Mexico-Taos she teaches continuing education in Balinese Traditional Massage. Kirstie developed a DVD instructional workshop as well which preserves Jero Tapakan’s sequence. The DVD is available on amazon.com.

She offers continuing education workshops for massage therapists and yoga instructors that are  approved for CEUs in New Mexico and by Yoga Alliance.

Dr. Kirstie released her book August 2013 an instructional guide for movement and yoga therapists in Myofascial Yoga. It is the first book written on incorporating the Myofascial Meridians into asana.  The book is available at amazon.com. She presented her pilot study results at the Fascial Congress in Fall of 2015.'
