Myofascial Yoga™ Kirsite teaches a public class once a week at TaoSatva. She teaches continuing education courses and UNM-Taos 200 Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Training Program. The core curriculum of the UNM-Taos program includes Yoga Therapy and Myofascial Yoga™. Offering a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology as well as how to change fascial patterns in the body.
Yoga & the Myofascial Body
Learn the principles behind Myofascial Yoga™ and how to open the fascial body up through the myofascial meridians. This course will teach the main myofascial meridians using concepts from Anatomy Trains by Tom Myers. We will explore the use of myofascial meridians through asana and how teach Myofascial Yoga™. The goal of Myofascial Yoga: A Movement and Yoga Therapists Guide to Asana is to show how teaching asana should include fascia, connective tissue, as an integrative and necessary step to bring yoga asana fully into movement therapies in the West. This approach integrates Eastern and Western techniques and is truly a unique opportunity to explore ourselves from a somatic level of awareness while moving through and changing patterns that keep us from living more freely in joy and health.

Deconstructing Asana Workshops (dates listed under Courses)
This course is designed as Continuing Education for Yoga Teachers who need CEUs for Yoga Alliance and is part of the advanced training program for a 300 hours of training through Santosha Yoga’s Apprentice Program. Deconstructing Asana is a series where we deconstruct the anatomy of asana and how to modify yoga poses for specific injuries and structural issues in the client. If you haven’t been exposed to concepts in fascial work, be prepared to have your mind opened up to a new way a looking and revealing asana. A short examination is required for completion.
